The LEIF Steering Committee’s role is to set the calendar of LEIF events, deciding which industries and investment themes to address and who should participate. Tom Whitehouse, Chairman Tom is the CEO and founder of LEIF’s Initiating Partner, Carbon International, the capital raising and investor relations consultancy. Tom is one of Europe’s leading champions of environmental innovation and finance. In the UK he has an unrivalled track record in launching, promoting and raising capital for environmental fund management and technology businesses. Since establishing Carbon International ten years ago, he has consistently identified and promoted investment opportunities and trends long before they became mainstream. He has worked across a broad range of businesses, industries and geographies; from British FTSE 250 hydrocarbon giants to European, North American, Israeli and Taiwanese public equity and venture capital investment companies and start-ups. He is a regular contributor and commentator on environmental investment trends for media outlets such as the BBC, the Guardian, Environmental Finance and Global Corporate Venturing. Tom’s clean technology blogs can be read here. He previously worked as an advisor on political risk to large energy companies, including Shell and BHP Billiton, and as a foreign correspondent. From 1997-1999 he was Moscow correspondent for The Guardian and from 1991-1997 he was a reporter for the BBC World Service, based in Prague and Moscow. Tom has a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. Mark Campanale, Secretary Mark has nearly 20 years experience in sustainable financial markets. Recruited as one of London’s first sustainable investment analysts in 1989, Mark is a co-founder of the sustainable investment businesses at Jupiter Asset Management with the Ecology Funds (1989-1994); NPI with Global Care Funds (1994-1999); AMP Capital with the Sustainable Future Funds (2000-2001) and Henderson Global Investors with the Industries of the Future Fund (1999-2006), whose funds as a group now amount to some £2.5 billion of assets. Mark is Treasurer of the Rainforest Foundation (UK); Advisor to Halloran Philanthropies; and is Founder Director of The Social Stock Exchange, funded by the Rockefeller Foundation. Mark has a BA in Politics & Economic History from York University and a Masters in Agricultural Economics from Wye College. Stefan den Doelder Stefan den Doelder is founder of 3P Capital Advisors, a consulting firm focused on clean tech and responsible private equity investments. Stefan has gained extensive experience in developing and managing clean tech and responsible private equity fund of funds while working at Robeco Private Equity, an acknowledged leader in these fields. Previously, Stefan den Doelder worked for eight years as a consultant focusing on sustainable business and investments, initially as one of the founding partners of Triple Value Strategy Consulting and later as the founder of independent consulting firm Pallieter BV. He received his M.Sc. Degree in Economics from Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. |
